Enjoy an audio tour of "Divine Bodies" on view at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco from March 9, 2018 through July 29, 2018.

How can we see the human in the divine and the divine in the human? Images of gods and goddesses, buddha and bodhisattvas, humans and their environment, invite us to ponder the power of transformation, the possibility of transcendence, and the relationship of the body to the cosmos. This tour includes 16 artworks, three by contemporary artists, exploring how ideal beauty is interpreted in different Asian cultures, how that beauty can be transformed by altering the forms of the body, how deities maintain their identity despite changes to their form, and how divine beings are represented after their death.
